Talk for writing – The Gingerbread Man

Character descriptions, sequencing stories and sentence structure


The children have phonics every day when new phonemes are taught and practised.


In maths we will be thinking about number and Place value before moving on to addition and subtraction.


We are thinking about parts of the human body and our senses.

Seasonal Changes and weather patterns: Autumn 


In Religious Education this term we are thinking about Creation and Thanksgiving.

Our Christian Value is Humility.

We will be celebration the Christian festival of Harvest

We will have a workshop about Islam.  

The Gingerbread Man


For the first part of the Autumn Term we will be learning about the Gingerbread Man.






We are thinking about New Beginnings, Rules and making people feel welcome.

Art/ DT

We will be looking at drawing and painting this half term, especially portraits. We will look at the works of famous artists. 


We will be learning lots of new Worship Songs.


We will be thinking about the Physical and Human geographical features of our local area: Ripley. We will look at aerial photos and maps.

Cooking and Nutrition

We will be thinking about where our food comes from and the differences between the food we eat now and the food that was eaten in the past.


The Children will work with our specialist sports coach Mrs Halford to develop their gross motor skills. The children will develop their gymnastic skills.
