Robins

Welcome to Robins Class

Dear Parents

We hope you had an enjoyable and restful holiday and are ready to begin the new school year.

As you can see from our topic web, we have some exciting areas of study to look at this year. We will be learning all about Robin Hood, as well as our local Ingilby family.  We will be visiting the castle later in the term so please look out for a letter about the trip.

Homework and spellings will be issued by Mrs Griffiths on Fridays and should, unless otherwise stated, be handed in on the following Wednesday. This will include spellings, maths and writing homework twice a half term.  In addition, it is expected that the children will read for at least 10 minutes every day. Your support with this is vital and very much appreciated!

PE is on a Tuesday and a Thursday this term, so please ensure all the children have a labelled PE kit in school on those days.  As we are in the Autumn term, jogging bottoms and a jumper would be a welcome addition to the PE kit!

We have a visiting music teacher on a Monday afternoon and all the children have the opportunity to play a violin or a cello. They will be able to take the instruments home to practise.  Please sign and return the slip so they are able to do this.

We are generally available at the start and end of each school day so if you have any concerns or queries please get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support.
