There is a strong tradition of music at Ripley Endowed C E School.  We believe that music is a very important aspect of our curriculum and we aim to foster pupils’ sensitivity to and enjoyment of music through a variety of individual, group and whole class activities.

Music is taught from Reception and is generally planned and taught by class teachers throughout the school.  This is augmented by visiting musicians, extra-curricular activities, including our choir and daily singing in Worship. We value every child’s contribution towards music in our school and children are actively encouraged to play instruments or sing at our end of term worship and to take part in our annual concert. Our musicians ar also encouraged to play regularly as a contribution towards our daily act of Worship.

Peripatetic music teachers visit the school each week providing tuition on guitar, brass, woodwind and keyboard.  Our children and parents are regularly reminded of the opportunities for musical instrument tuition.
