Personal, Social and Health Education and SEAL

At Ripley Endowed Primary School we value PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) along with SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) very highly and we timetable these lessons for all classes on a weekly basis. We also cover aspects of both of these subjects through our daily Act of Worship. SEAL topics are developed each term and are introduced during a whole school assembly. The SEAL topic is then revisited on a weekly basis through assembly stories. We follow the non-statutory guidance for PSHE within the National Curriculum.

We feel it is vital that a child’s emotional health is developed and nurtured in order for other areas of the curriculum to be enhanced and we run a weekly Nurture Group, based on SEAL principles, for some of our most vulnerable learners.
