Horton Grange, Bradford

We have had a successful link with Horton Grange Primary School in Bradford for 3 years now.  The aim of the project is for the children to see how different schools can be in areas not that far from home.  Horton Grange is an inner city primary school with over 700 pupils with many different cultures represented in the school.

The children in years 4 and 5 wrote to each other this year sharing with the other school about themselves and their hobbies etc.

We went to visit Horton Grange at the beginning of June 2013 in order that the children could meet face to

face with the children from Horton Grange.

The children were amazed at how large the school was in comparison to Ripley and also how different the surrounding area was.  Our hosts took us for a walk and to the local park and then to a restaurant to try a “lassi” – an Indian drink made from yoghurt.

The children from Horton Grange then visited Ripley when we took them to our local farm, castle and ice cream shop.

We hope to keep this link for many years to come.
