Communication With Parents

Communication between home and school is vital. At the beginning of each new academic year, a Home School Agreement is prepared which lists the responsibilities of staff, parents and children.  This is signed by each person and includes children being properly dressed in school uniform, completing homework on time etc.

A weekly newsletter is sent by email and urgent information can be sent by text as part of the ParentPay system. Class teachers send a termly letter home outlining the curriculum topics for the half term and any other information needed.

A Home School Book is brought home for parents to complete to confirm that reading and homework tasks are being completed and to inform the teacher of any issues which have arisen.

Parent Consultation Afternoons

Each Autumn and Spring term there is an opportunity to meet with your child’s class teacher to discuss their progress. A variety of  times are on offer to suit parents. If none of these times are suitable separate appointment can be made.

Open Door Policy

Staff members and the Headteacher are available both before and after school for informal conversations. If you would prefer to talk privately, a specific appointment can be made.

Your support for your child’s education is crucial to their progress.  Please tell us if there is any adjustments we need to make to help you support your child, for example: letters in large font; letters in different languages; wheelchair access; explaining things over the phone; a discussion with a school colleague of the same gender.
