Enthuse Award

Ripley school won the Enthuse Award for science. This award has meant that £5000 has been made available for the development of science across the school.

This development of science has allowed staff to attend training resulting in increased awareness of the new science curriculum. In addition, we have also made use of a local science specialist who has supported us in our practical science lessons and events.

The children have benefited from this increase in focus through recent science days such as the dissection and digestive system activities and a key stage two Rocks Event. An Ecology Day has been scheduled for May where the children will be exploring the natural environment around us through practical activities and investigations. In addition, a Planetarium Day, in conjunction with Burnt Yates school, has been planned for June.

This is only the start of what we hope will be an enjoyable, practical and active science curriculum at Ripley. Watch this space for more photographs and updates regarding our developing science curriculum.
