Sports Premium Funding

Since 2013, the government has provided primary schools with additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport. The Governments has promised that this funding, provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, will continue for 2017-18 and beyond. The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Funding for 2019 to 2020

Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive £1,000 per pupil.

Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.

Ripley have been awarded £16,470

At Ripley Endowed C E Primary School, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.

Our Primary School Sports Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver high quality PE sessions in school. We aim to make our provision inclusive for all of our children, encouraging active participation in sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle.
